Millie Acamovic
Vice President of Finance & Administration and CFO
Joined NWAF: February 2007

Millie is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Foundation’s overall financial and administrative plans and policies.  She provides strategic direction for finance and administration, grants and contracts, human resources, facilities and information and technology.  Millie assists in the management of the Foundation’s investments and acts as primary liaison to the board of directors’ Investment and Audit committees.  She is a member of the executive team and appointed officer of the Foundation, and the treasurer of the board of directors.

Millie brings more than 20 years experience in finance and investment to the Foundation.  Most recently she was vice president of Advice Services at Ameriprise, leading a 35+ person department in the development, training, and support of the financial planning software used by the firm’s approximately 10,000 advisors to help clients reach their financial goals. 

Prior to this, Millie spent almost 18 years in the investment business, serving as vice president, Investment Management and Hedge Funds Operations, with responsibility for hedge funds operations, Wall Street broker relations, soft dollars and commissions management, proxy voting and corporate governance, Six Sigma transformation projects, and acting in various committee leadership capacities.


Millie holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Chicago, a master’s of business administration from the University of Minnesota, an NASD Series 7 license, and Six Sigma Green Belt and Executive Black Belt designations.  A native of Chicago, she lives in southeast Minneapolis with her husband, Christopher Wilson, and twin sons, Robert and James.
